Our ‘mental health’ refers to our state of mind, resilience, and ability to cope with the everyday things that are going on around us. Someone with ‘good’ mental health usually feels capable of dealing with the different everyday situations that they find themselves in.
Put simply, it’s quite normal for everyone to have mental health issues from time to time – that is, to go through ups and downs.
When we have ‘poor’ mental health, the day-to-day occurrences are a struggle.
All we may need is some education about how to cope, someone to hear us, somewhere safe to speak, and some ideas for change.
A mental ‘illness’, is quite different and often requires a diagnosis by a Medical Professional, such as a GP, Psychologist and/or Psychiatrist.
Even then, there is hope.
Even then, there is help.
At Medical on Robina we can assist in finding a way forward.
